Human Tissue Procurement

FIDELIS RESEARCH recognizes the increasing importance of biospecimens, which are becoming essential tools for the translation of our client’s research into new products.

Solid Tumors

From day one of its founding, primary focus area of FIDELIS RESEARCH has been ONCOLOGY.

FIDELIS RESEARCH works with the leading onco-surgical sites in Bulgaria and Romania to collect many hard to procure treatment naive tissue specimens in several forms including Snap Frozen and FFPE.

We put all efforts in expanding our network of collection sites in order to collect diverse human tissue types in different forms, including matching blood products and biospecimens.

FIDELIS RESEARCH has experience in providing high quality customized tissues for cancer research. Our aim is to assist customer in the development of novel therapeutic approaches for the treatment of ONCOLOGY diseases.

FIDELIS RESEARCH’s acquisition capabilities include the following cancer types:

  • BREAST CARCINOMA
  • BLADDER CARCINOMA
  • BRAIN TUMORS
  • COLORECTAL CARCINOMA (CRC) AND POLYPS
  • HEAD & NECK
  • ENDOMETRIAL
  • GASTROINTESTINAL CARCINOMA
  • LIVER CARCINOMA
  • LUNG  CARCINOMA
  • MELANOMA AND BASALIOMA
  • ORAL CAVITY
  • OVARIAN CARCINOMA AND BENIGN CONDITIONS
  • PANCREATIC ADENOCARCINOMA
  • PROSTATE ADENOCARCINOMA AND HYPERPLASIA OF PROSTATE
  • NON-HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA
  • RENAL CELL CARCINOMA
  • SOFT TISSUE SARCOMA
  • TESTICULAR CARCINOMA

Hematological Malignancies

FIDELIS RESEARCH collects biospecimens from patients with all types of hematologic malignancies in the chronic and crisis stages of the disease. Cancer blood, bone marrow aspirate (0.5 - 3 ml) and bone marrow trephine biopsy specimens obtained from these patients are used for cellular and molecular analyses for drug discovery, preclinical research; drug safely evaluation, biomarker development and pre-selection of indications for clinical trials.

The specimens are snap-frozen and supplied in standard cryovials.

FIDELIS RESEARCH provides different options for creating matched sets: fresh/frozen bone marrow plus matching blood, serum or plasma are among the most commonly requested.

Additionally we can offer preparation of BBMC and PBMC.

FIDELIS RESEARCH’s acquisition includes the following types:

  • Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
  • Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL)
  • Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML)
  • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
  • Hodgkin & Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
  • Myelodysplastic Syndromes
  • Multiple Myeloma
  • Polycythemia Vera

Biological Fluids

FIDELIS RESEARCH provides a broad range of other human body fluids. Some of the fluids for the identification of reliable biomarkers and therapeutic methods are:

  • Ascitic Fluid
  • Pleural Fluid
  • Synovial Fluid
  • Buccal Swabs
  • Sputum
  • Urine
  • Blood/Serum/Plasma

All biofluids are available as non-pooled aliquots from individual cases. Each aliquot is accompanied by detailed clinical information from the specific.

Through its network of collection sites FIDELIS RESEARCH offers to its customers a rapid turnaround on biofluid availability. Furthermore, the detailed clinical information provided with each sample permits researchers to reach more definitive conclusions from their experimental results.

Under ETHICS COMMITTEE approval, blood, serum and plasma samples could be collected from large population groups along with matched controls. Whole blood, plasma and serum are processed at our collection sites and shipped directly to customers.

Inflammatory diseases

FIDELIS RESEARCH is able to provide synovial fluid from both surgical and post mortem donors. Due to variance in research requirements, most collections of this type are performed on a prospective basis.

FIDELIS RESEARCH collects synovial tissue and synovial fluid from elbow and knee/hip joints from patients with all stages of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

FIDELIS RESEARCH provides different options for creating matched sets:  fresh/frozen synovial tissue/fluid plus matching blood, serum or plasma.

Normal Tissues

FIDELIS RESEARCH has access to an extensive number of post mortem normal tissues obtained 6-10 hours post-mortem interval.
All the samples are obtained with the informed consent of the relatives of the donor.

Due to the specificity of each client’s protocol, all projects are conducted on a prospective basis as we are not banking any normal
tissues.

Metabolic Disorders

FIDELIS RESEARCH has extensive experience in providing high quality customized tissues to the biopharmaceutical industry. Our aim is to assist in the development of novel therapeutic approaches to the treatment of diseases.

We have capabilities to collect blood, serum, plasma and other biofluids from patients with confirmed diagnoses of Diabetes mellitus (Type I and Type II).

Preparation: serum, frozen, 1 ml. Whole blood is collected in standard K-EDTA tubes (8 ml) and routinely processed for serum separation. Samples are stored at -80C
